Sound Shelter Editorial Policy
Our editorial policy keeps audio reviews consistent across sound quality, fit, source-chain compatibility, use case, and price context.
Review criteria
Each review uses criteria suited to the product type. For headphones and IEMs we consider tonal balance, fatigue, comfort, seal, isolation, microphone behavior, controls, case design, and repair or pad replacement. For DACs and amplifiers we look at compatibility, gain, noise, output needs, desk footprint, and setup clarity.
Updating articles
We update pages when prices, model revisions, firmware, availability, or warranty terms change the recommendation. Articles show an updated date so readers can judge freshness.
Independence
Brands and retailers do not approve articles before publication. We may use public specs, owner manuals, retailer pricing, direct listening notes, and reader corrections, but the final verdict belongs to Sound Shelter.
