Discovering new music is supposed to be enjoyable, not a chore. But when hundreds of new songs are released each day, it’s almost impossible to keep your finger on the pulse and it's easy to become disilluionsed when faced with track after track of mediocrity while making sure that excellent music doesn’t pass you by.

So…we’ve given up trying to find the one gem in a thousand on digital stores and are taking things back to our roots.

From now on, we’re going to trust the recommendations of carefully selected record shop workers and fellow music lovers.

Let Sound Shelter help you to discover new electronic music

Our “Sound Tracker” technology collates recommendations from the world’s finest record stores to give you the best new releases across all electronic and soul jazz genres.

We update our data every half an hour using some pretty nifty web technology, so you will always be on top of the best new releases.

We take recommendations from stores in music hot spots such as London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Glasgow and Manchester. We feel these stores have the combined expertise of a variety of genres to ensure that only the best music recommendations come through.

Recommend your favourite music to others

By creating a user account, you can start to make your own recommendations from our huge selection of past and current recommendations. Recommend a release by simply clicking the star icon next each release - you must be logged in to use this feature. Your recommendation will be used when we calculate the most popular releases so make sure you give your favourite releases the love they deserve.

Get Personalised recommendations

Users with at least 5 releases in their favourites will receive personalised recommendations from Sound Shelter. This is calculated from the releases in their favourites. This is still very much a beta feature and we are working on making the recommendations as accurate as possible. The best way to make it more accurate is to add more releases to your favourites.

Buy vinyl and CD releases from Juno

Through our partnership with the legendary Juno Records, each release has a link through to the Juno site where you can purchase the release. Just click the Plus symbol to add the release to your Juno cart.

Find music from your favourite artists on Spotify

We have also integrated Sound Shelter with Spotify, the worlds leading music streaming service. Whenever you see the Spotify icon or logo on Sound Shelter, simply click on it and your computer will automatically load the Spotify application and take you straight to the relevant page for that artist from where you can listen to all their available releases.

Our aim is to filter out the mundane and find you the good stuff. And we don’t discriminate against particular styles of music, so you’ll be able to find everything from House, Disco, Dubstep and Techno, to Dub, Soul Jazz and Leftfield. If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that good music can be found in most genres.
